Yes, we recommend the Dynmap® plugin for your server.

Since the early days of customized Minecraft servers, players and administrators alike have yearned to see well beyond their render distance. Whether it be for scouting a future build location, or keeping a watchful eye on the player base, the most popular block game on Earth has never offered a way to visualize an entire world. Map items were added to the game in May of 2011, but are incapable of displaying the scale and precision often desired by fans to this day.

This all changed with the introduction of Dynmap® later that same year. No longer were players bound by a bird’s eye perspective: it was a literal game-changer. Even now, the snappy world selection and live player icons make perusing the battlefield a breeze. A number of add-ons are available, including Dynmap-Quests (ad) for integration between its titular plugins. As time goes on, layers of information can typically be toggled on and off to prevent crowding of the interface.

One hurdle that first-time users may need to overcome is that the plugin does not automatically begin rendering worlds after startup. As mentioned in their documentation, administrators must first run a command in-game before getting to see anything more than a black screen. Once completed though, most find the result to be worth the wait. In fact, you can try out our Dynmap® instance here.

  1. I am really loving the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A few of my blog visitors have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you have any suggestions to help fix this issue?
